Good Grief!

This is old news already, but since the Navigator has been doing a fine job of covering the Alex Rodriguez trade, I wanted to bring the technical (yes, technical!) part of this deal to everyone’s attention. Techdirt reports an interesting detail in the fine print:

In exchange for the [contract] alterations, which devalue the present-day value of the contract by $5 million, Rodriguez will receive a hotel suite on road trips, have the right to link his Web site to the Yankees’ site and get a guarantee that the deferred money won’t be wiped out by a work stoppage.

The right to link to the Yankee’s website? That can’t be right…obviously we need some clarification about this valuable link. In fact, many people are pointing out that the agreement is probably the other way around–perhaps the Yankees have agreed to link to A-Rod’s site.
