Queen’s grammar on speed
Published by Becky S March 15th, 2004 in style & grammarUPDATE 4/26/2004: I don’t know what’s afoot in the grammar world, but this page is suddenly getting a tremendous amount of hits on searches for “queen’s grammar,” etc. If you’re looking for more information on Professor Sinha and his book, I’m sorry that this site can’t be more helpful–I looked for a useful link to post, but I couldn’t find one.

I know–the grammar thing is getting old. Barring any earth-shattering grammar news in the next few days, I’ll give it a rest. But this is great: Professor S K Sinha of Thakur College in Kandivli, India says he’s discovered a formula that allows him to teach any grammar lesson in minutes. In fact, he’s going to be in the Guinness Book of World Records’s Academic category.
At a presentation at the college on January 31, Prof Sinha taught the basics of grammar to 600 students within seconds, leaving everyone spellbound.

Ever learnt tense in 30 seconds, indirect speech in 1 minute 40 seconds and clauses in 2 minutes 25 seconds? Prof Sinha will show you how. And yes, ‘‘my students do understand what I teach,’’ smiles the affable professor.
But how does he do it? No use “reading the whole thing,” as they say, because the article doesn’t reveal any details about the secret formula.
UPDATE: Changed b to be. But I still think that SMS is not responsible for the downfall of the English language.

Hi Shivaprasad,
I haven’t actually written a grammar book. This entry was about Professor Sinha, who has a secret formula for quickly teaching English grammar.
