Some final thoughts for the week:

  • Send some good vibes to Dana the reformed crack whore. She and her family barely had time to recover from hurricane Charlie before Frances started heading their way.
  • Once again, I will use blogging prowess to combat the lies of big media. Ready? JOHN EDWARDS IS NOT THAT GOOD LOOKING. There, someone had to say it.
  • John Edwards may not be cute, but here’s a bunch of stuff that is.
  • I was reading music reviews on Metacritic, and stumbled across this gem:

Absolutely astonishing. If you find this music too weird or can’t appreciate its brillance, stick to your mainstream, radio rubbish.

Hey, get the hell off the Internet, you pretentious twit. And misspelling the word brilliance? On the other hand, stay on the Internet, you pretentious twit, so we can mock you. I was so irked by this review that I popped over to Tunes and indulged in a little consumer whoredom by purchasing the latest Drive-By Truckers record. If you can’t appreciate the brilliance of the Drive-By Truckers, go read a weblog for smart people.

  • The Philadelphia Fringe Festival starts today! Today! As in, it is going on right now! Why else would I end four sentences in a row with exclamation points! You can see the Fringe as it unfolds over at the website of Jacques-Jean Tiziou, a photographer who is documenting the festivities. Thanks to Sassy J for the link.

Have a fantastic weekend!

UPDATE: WTF?

So that is why everyone called Jacques-Jean “JJ” (jayjay?)!

And I have yet to see a cute politicians, however, Edwards does have his mouth in front and not on the side of his face

Here, here! I think “The Dirty South” is a strong contender (so far) for disc of the year (other “up there” nominees include Mike Watt’s “The Middleman’s Second Stand”). Every track is well done; I find it much more akin to “Southern Rock Opera” (which I loved) than “Decoration Day” (which I though was kind of uneven). Favorite song so far is is “Carl Perkins’ Cadillac”. Excited that the DBT are playing Austin on the 19th of September. Hope you have a good weekend.

What is cute about BootyBabe? The star spangled pasties or the gimp mask?

Sassy J, are you talking about Sam’s link? I get an error, “forbidden.”

People have apparently learned to do clever things so as to prevent looking at Mr. Dicky’s (Dick just sounds so cruel) crooked mouth.

Also I didn’t realize how big Eddie’s headshot was. I think he needs those whitening strips and a trip to the dentist.

Thanks, Sam. All links are working from home. That whole page was interesting–I especially like Dick Cheney as Marie Antoinette.
