I'm not up on my hip-hop, so as for Outkast and Ludacris (are they individual people or groups?), I had no idea they're from Georgia. Gillian Welch. I know I should like her. I love all that "O Brother" Americana stuff. People keep lending me her records. I realize she's very talented, but I just can't get into it. I fell asleep during her show at the TLA last January. I've also slept through Bob Dylan, Squirrel Nut Zippers (remember them?), Itzhak Perlman, more movies than I can count (most recently I Heart Huckabees), Kenneth Branaugh doing Hamlet (twice!), and the Philadelphia Orchestra. So Gillian, it's really nothing personal. It's not you--it's me. Except for you, Bob Dylan. Is it really necessary to sing "Like a Rolling Stone" for, like, twenty minutes? Jesus.
