Enter contests, get stuff
Published by Becky S January 6th, 2005 in philadelphiaOkay, enough about Kansas City—time for some Philly goodness. Did you know that Philadelphia webloggers have great contests*?
I won a can of limited edition Crazy Aaron’s Mistletoe Thinking Putty for putting the 1,001th comment on Blankbaby, and as per the contest rules, I had to be photographed receiving the prize. Though I haven’t been doing the Thinking Putty hand exercises, I did manage to sculpt everybody’s favorite Japanese consumer icon (click the picture to enlarge).
The Charlie Brown Christmas DVD is courtesy of Dave’s contest at the Lunabomber Manifesto, which I won by calling the Lunabomber toll-free number and impersonating a deity. The DVD and accompanying Christmas/birthday card were addressed to Jesus, but I decided to keep them anyway.
Thanks, Scott and Dave! Everyone else: don’t let the fact that I will kick your ass deter you from participating in the next contest.
*Great contest = one that I win.

Either Blankbaby doesn’t know how to work the flash on his camera or you turn into a pile of dust when exposed to light. In either case, that could have been a picture of Al Pacino or Renne Zelwigger for all we could tell.
I made Scott turn off the flash. I didn’t want to dazzle his readers with my good looks.
I’m not so big on entering contests but I do like making bets with bloggers who always lose.
Tom, as Becky points out, I do indeed know how to operate the basic functions of my digital camera. We were going for ‘atmospheric.’
And I would say that Becky is closer to Renne Zelwigger than Al Pacino, of course so am I.
