Manahmanah: Muppet Show on DVD
Published by Becky S October 23rd, 2005 in arts
On Thursday night I was in a post-convention foul temper, putting sad songs on the Internet, when the phone rang. “Go to the front room,” said the mysterious caller, “and pick up the freakin’ New Yorker that’s been lying on your coffee table since August.”
Well, I never. People phoning up and bossing me around like that. But under the unread August 29th copy of the New Yorker was the entire first season of The Muppet Show on DVD.
Some episodes and skits are better than others, but the first five minutes of the first show eliminated all traces of bad mood. And guess what? The mana manah sketch is online, and you should watch it right now! Be sure to catch the bonus Statler and Waldorf commentary at the end.

Ah, you should see the video that Pato Fu (a group from Brazil) did a few years back based on the music,

Just go to the bottom of the page to see the video, the song is named “Made in Japan”
Very cool…thanks, Luna!
You’re welcome Becky! I hope you weren’t singing the song the whole day (like I was)
I just had a huge fight with my sister about the name of this song. she insisted it was “phenomenon”. how dare she doubt my 7 years older wisdom?
